HIRING RANGE: $16.09 - $18.50 HOURLY
GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK:Performs skilled work in focused and concentrated areas of the Parks and Recreation Department.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:Under general supervision an employee in this class performs skilled work involving food and beverage services. An employee in this class performs related work as required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Resume and proven working experience as a bartender. Excellent knowledge of in mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks. Computer literacy is a plus. Positive attitude and excellent communication skills. Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean. Relevant training certificates must be kept current. Must have the ability to get along well with others; and the ability to work unusual hours, especially holidays, nights, and weekends. Must pass a criminal background check.
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:High school graduate or GED; must be at least 21 years of age. Proof of completion of approved NC ABC Commission Responsible Alcohol Server/seller program (RASP) within the past 12 months and at least every 3 years thereafter required. ServSafe Alcohol Certification preferred. A valid NC driver’s license or ability to obtain prior to hire and a safe driving history is also required.
JOB RELATED PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS:This is light work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects, and some medium work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally. Work requires reaching, walking, stooping, crouching, standing, lifting, fingering, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. Short term exposure to loud music exceeding 85 dBA could be reasonably anticipated requiring the use of hearing protection.
