Job summary

Hyatt Regency Phoenix is seeking a Security Officer to help create a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, colleagues, and visitors.

In this role you will protect hotel assets, monitor safety operations, respond to emergencies, and deliver exceptional customer service.

The position emphasizes strong situational awareness, professional conduct, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk moderate distances
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Proficient in basic computer skills
• Previous security experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible and professional presence throughout the property to promote safety and security for guests and colleagues.
• Conduct routine patrols of hotel facilities and grounds to identify and address safety concerns, security risks, or unusual activity.
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, including medical incidents, fire alarms, accidents, and other security-related situations.
• Investigate, document, and prepare detailed reports regarding incidents, accidents, property damage, and suspicious activities.
• Enforce hotel policies and applicable laws while managing challenging situations with professionalism, discretion, and respect.
• Assist with lost and found procedures, ensuring accurate documentation and the secure handling of guest belongings.
• Provide assistance, information, and directions to guests and colleagues, delivering outstanding customer service at all times.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency responders as needed.
• Monitor surveillance systems, alarms, and other security equipment to identify and mitigate potential threats.
• Support hotel operations and special events by helping maintain a safe environment during conferences, meetings, and periods of high guest activity.
• Collaborate with hotel leadership and department teams to promote a culture of safety and security throughout the property.
