Job summary

UMÉ Studio in Oakland, CA seeks a design-driven Interior Designer / Interior Architect to join full-time. You will contribute to interior architecture, FF&E strategy, documentation, and coordination across hospitality and wellness projects, from concept through construction administration.

This role demands aesthetic rigor and technical fluency, with independence in a small studio. California project experience is required; occasional travel for site visits may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Architecture or Interiors.
• 3+ years of interior design or interior architecture experience.
• Proficiency with Rhino, Enscape, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suite; Revit is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop interior design concepts aligned with brand and architectural direction.
• Lead FF&E strategy including custom furniture, lighting, material selection, and millwork.
• Coordinate consultants including structural, MEP, civil, and specialty trades.
• Manage internal project timelines, deliverables, and drawing packages.
• Produce interior drawing packages including plans, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, finish plans, schedules, and detailing.
• Support Revit, CAD, Rhino model development and documentation integration.
• Review submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings.
• Support site visits and construction problem-solving to ensure alignment with drawings and design vision.
