Job summary

Opry Entertainment Group is seeking a Director of Design to lead interior design for a portfolio of hotel-related developments, renovations, and repositionings. Qualifications

• 10+ years interior design experience in hospitality, hotel, resort, or mixed-use projects.
• 5+ years in a project leadership role with budgets and schedules.
• Demonstrated experience leading large-scale hotel renovations and new development projects.
• Experience managing external design consultants and cross-functional project teams.
• Strong understanding of hospitality operations, guest experience design, FF&E procurement, and project delivery processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead interior design efforts for development, renovation, and repositioning projects, ensuring brand and guest experience alignment.
• Translate goals into design solutions via concepts, space planning, FF&E, artwork, and finish selections.
• Provide expert guidance through project execution, balancing aesthetics with constructability and ROI.
• Direct design processes from inception to completion, reviewing documents to ensure quality and design intent.
• Partner with senior leadership on development, construction, operations, procurement needs to resolve design challenges and maintain schedules and budgets.
• Conduct site reviews and visits to monitor implementation and delivery.
• Serve as primary design liaison with owners, operators, architects, vendors, and consultants.
• Develop design briefs and provide direction to consultants throughout the design process.
• Present concepts and updates to leadership and stakeholders.
• Ensure consistent brand design standards while supporting innovation and continuous improvement.
• Monitor hospitality design trends and incorporate relevant opportunities into solutions.
• Support sourcing, procurement, and value-engineering while preserving guest experience and design quality.
• Oversee Design Project Managers and FF&E Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
