Job summary

Spectrum-Medical-Partners is seeking a Hospitalist for weekend coverage in Orlando, FL. The role is a 1099 contractor providing inpatient internal medicine care at affiliated hospitals with care coordination across services.

The position is weekend-only (every other weekend), with eligibility for a quarterly quality bonus and inpatient responsibilities including rounds, diagnostics, and therapies. Board eligibility and an active Florida license are required.

Qualifications

• Advanced graduate medical education in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Board certification or eligibility in IM/FP is required.
• Active Florida medical license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Assess, evaluate and manage patients in acute facility.
• Diagnose and actively manage patient conditions.
• Attend multi-disciplinary rounds and coordinate care.
• Order and interpret diagnostics and tests.
• Prescribe therapies and coordinate referrals as needed.
• Ensure efficient resource utilization and pathway compliance.
• Refer patients to appropriate tertiary care when indicated.

Job Summary:

The Hospitalist is expected to provide clinical care for patients admitted at our affiliated hospitals, provide support to our surgical and specialty services through consultative general internal medicine practice.

EVERY OTHER WEEKEND=26 WEEKENDS PER YEAR

Primary Functions:

• Responsible for the assessment, evaluation and clinical management of patients in the acute facility. This is inclusive of performing histories and physicals, as well as, conducting physical examinations.
• Diagnosis and active management of patient conditions, including evaluation and treatment, inclusive of daily patient care.
• Attend multi-disciplinary rounds at site
• Orders, conducts, and interprets diagnostic studies and laboratory tests
• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including but not limited to suturing, wound care, incision and drainage and splinting
• Prescribes or recommends pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies, including controlled medications
• Consults appropriate physician(s) for patient care needs
• Refers patients to appropriate sources of care as required
• Assures the efficient utilization of resources while supporting clinical pathway implementation and compliance
• Assures appropriate and timely referrals to a tertiary care facility as indicated by the patient care needs in consultation with the primary care physician or attending physician

Education, Training, Experience:

• Completion of advanced graduate medical education in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible (IM or FP)
• Active FL medical license in good standing
