Job summary

Spectrum Medical Partners seeks a dedicated Hospitalist to provide inpatient care at UF Spanish Plaines (The Villages) affiliated hospitals in Florida. The physician will manage acute care, support surgical and specialty services through internal medicine consults, and participate in collaborative, team-based rounds.

The role offers a block schedule (7 on / 7 off, 6 AM–6 PM) with round-robin call and a semi-closed ICU supported by specialists.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine completed.
• Board certification/eligibility in IM or FM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive histories, physicals, and ongoing assessments of inpatient cases.
• Diagnose and actively treat conditions with continuity of daily care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and coordinate care.
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic studies and labs.
• Perform procedures such as suturing, wound care, I&D, and splinting.
• Prescribe and manage pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies.
• Collaborate with specialists and primary care for consults.
• Adhere to clinical pathways and optimize resource use.
• Arrange referrals and transfers to tertiary facilities as clinically indicated.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Hospitalist to join our team and provide high-quality inpatient care at our affiliated hospitals. The hospitalist will manage the clinical needs of admitted patients, support surgical and specialty services through consultative internal medicine, and participate in collaborative, team-based care.

Schedule:

Block schedule – 7 on / 7 off (6 AM – 6 PM)

Call:

Round-robin rotation

ICU:

Semi-closed, with specialist support

Support:

Dedicated ARNP coverage

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive histories, physicals, and ongoing assessments of patients in the acute care setting.
• Diagnose, manage, and actively treat a variety of patient conditions, ensuring continuity of daily care.
• Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary rounds.
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic studies and laboratory results.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (e.g., suturing, wound care, I&D, splinting).
• Prescribe and manage pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies, including controlled substances.
• Collaborate with specialty and primary care physicians for consults and coordinated care.
• Ensure efficient use of resources while adhering to clinical pathways and best practices.
• Arrange timely referrals and transfers to tertiary facilities as clinically indicated.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree
• Completion of residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Board Certified/Board Eligible (IM or FM)
• Active and unrestricted Florida medical license (or ability to obtain)
• DEA license (active or eligible)
