UPMC is seeking a Physician to serve as the Site Medical Director for UPMC Memorial.

The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of administrative experience and possess strong leadership skills.

Primary Duties

1. Recruitment and retention of physicians to serve as hospitalists
2. Oversight of quality measures and outcomes for the program
3. Interaction with referring physicians and attention to their concerns
4. Evaluating and giving feedback to practicing hospitalists regarding their performance (clinical and administrative)
5. Ensure that hospitalists' patients meet the quality and patient satisfaction guidelines as established by regulatory and payor agencies
6. Serve as a liaison between the hospitalist program and various other clinical departments
7. Ensure that patients receive timely communication, and have an opportunity to have their questions answered
8. Work with other areas of the health system to accomplish system goals as they pertain to the hospitalist program
9. Work with nursing and other members of the clinical team to design and implement care protocols so as to ensure optimal care of hospital patients
