Hospitalist Physician in Abilene, TX at TeamHealth

Job Description

TeamHealth has an excellent opportunity for a full-time internal medicine (IM) trained physician only to join our stable and established hospital medicine program at Hendrick Medical Center South in Abilene, Texas. Hendrick Medical Center is a 231-bed hospital with a 20-bed open ICU. Enjoy a block schedule of 7 days on, 7 days off with a staffing model of 3 day-shift physicians, 1 day-shift APC, and 1 nocturnist physician. Our daytime clinicians see an average census of 15-20 per day which includes 1-2 admissions. During the nocturnist shift, our physician will see between 10-12 admissions on average. Hospitalists do run codes and handle rapid response, as they are the primary admitters for the ICU. Procedures are highly preferred for this position.

When it comes to specialty support, Hendrick MC South has the support of GI, cardiology, neurology, spine surgery, general surgery, infectious disease, pulmonology, OB/Gyn, wound care, and interventional radiology (will assist ED with procedures).
