Job summary

Prisma Health University Medical Group is seeking a Physician for hospitalist services in Richland/Columbia to provide high-quality medical care. You will participate in after-hours coverage and contribute to teaching, research goals, and community outreach.

The role requires MD or DO, residency completion, and board eligibility/certification, with licensure in the state. Responsibilities include documentation with CPT/ICD codes and adherence to professional standards.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
• Successful Completion of Residency; Board Certified or Board Eligible; Medical Staff Privileges.
• Licensed to practice medicine in the state of employment.
• Controlled Substance License in state of employment.
• Drug Enforcement Agency Number.
• Basic Computer Skills; Knowledge of Office Equipment; Mathematical skills; Specialty specific skills.

Responsibilities

• Engages in the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of disease, defects or injuries and recommend or prescribe treatments for the relief or cure of physical, mental or functional ailments or defects.
• Renders medical treatment to patients consistent with generally accepted professional standards of care regardless of ability to pay, race, creed, color, sex, religion, or national origin.
• Completes accurate, legible, and timely medical records; uses CPT and ICD codes.
• Provides after hours call coverage with other physicians of the Practice.
• Participates in quality assurance, utilization management, patient education, and patient satisfaction programs.
