Job summary

Society of Critical Care Medicine in Gary, Indiana, seeks a Hospital Medicine Physician to join a collaborative inpatient team. The role centers on clinical leadership, timely decisions, and coordinated treatment plans for the inpatient journey.

You’ll participate in day and night scheduling, admit to the ICU with intensivist support, and provide patient-centered care using the Epic EMR. Comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, CME, and professional growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
• Board certified/eligible in family or internal medicine.

Responsibilities

• Day Hospitalists rounding and admissions as part of a small team.
• Non-procedural care with codes and rapids as needed.

Scheduling:

• We have both day and night positions with an array of flexible scheduling options.

Key Responsibilities:

• Day Hospitalists Round on patients as well as do admissions. Our model is 2 Hospitalists along with an APP working as a team.

• We do not perform procedures, but we do run codes and rapids.

• You will be admitting to the ICU but do consult with an intensivist. We also have specialty support that can be at the hospital within minutes if necessary.

• We work with Epic as our EMR system and would be cross-credentialed at our sister location in Merrillville.

• Located on the Indiana/Illinois border, just outside of the Chicagoland area, you will find the communities of Gary and Merrillville, Indiana. Located just 12 miles from each other, it is easy to work between both locations. Northwest Indiana is a great locale on Lake Michigan's southern shore with its cities and towns offering a diverse range of lifestyles, with convenient access via train to downtown Chicago. The area offers a variety of housing, educational, and recreation opportunities along with a multitude of public and private schools.
