Job description

Job Summary: Geisinger is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Internal Medicine physician for the department of Hospital Medicine at Geisinger Community Medical Center, located in Scranton, PA. This position is for a hospital-based physician who works overnight shifts. Nocturnists are typically trained in internal medicine and have experience in hospital medicine, though training in other fields such as psychiatry or family medicine is also acceptable.

Job Duties

1. Interview patients to obtain information such as symptoms, medical histories, and family histories. Perform and/or interpret diagnostic tests as needed.
2. Diagnose and develop treatment plans for injuries and illnesses. Prescribe or administer medications. Prepare, maintain, and review patient records, including histories, examination findings, treatment plans, and outcomes.
