Job Summary

Geisinger is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Internal Medicine physician for the department of Hospital Medicine at Geisinger Community Medical Center, located in Scranton, PA.

This position is for a hospital-based physician who works exclusively overnight. Nocturnists are typically trained in internal medicine and have experience in hospital medicine, though there are nocturnists trained in other specialties such as psychiatry or family medicine.

Job Duties

1. Interview patients to obtain information such as symptoms, medical histories, and family histories. Perform and/or interpret diagnostic tests as needed.
2. Diagnose and develop treatment plans for injuries and/or illnesses. Prescribe or administer medications. Prepare, maintain, and review records including patient histories, examination findings, treatment plans, and outcomes.
