MD/DO Gastroenterology Hospitalist - UNC Rex

UNC REX Digestive Healthcare has been providing high-quality gastroenterology care to patients in the Raleigh area for over 50 years. It is one of the most advanced gastroenterology practices in Raleigh and Wake County.

Position Overview: UNC REX Digestive is seeking GI Hospitalists to join their team. The role involves consultation only, with no outpatient responsibilities. General GI experience is required; EUS/ERCP skills are beneficial but not mandatory.

Practice Features:

• Affiliated cancer center with onsite pathology, surgery, radiology, and a full-time general medicine admitting service.
• Full-time APP coverage for consultations, follow-ups, and procedure scheduling.
• Physicians supervise APPs and perform procedures in the endoscopy area.
• Endoscopy Suites: 5
• Procedures: 8-12 daily

Schedule and Compensation:

• Typical 3-week schedule:
• 7 days of inpatient General GI coverage with APP support
• 5 days of procedures
• One week off
• Call: 1:4, Weekend coverage: 1:4

Approximately 3-4 months off per year.
