Position Summary :
Inhospital Physicians is seeking an experienced and motivated Hospitalist Medical Director to lead the hospital medicine program at Jeanes Hospital , a key facility in the Temple Health system. This role offers a unique opportunity for a physician leader to make a meaningful impact on patient care, hospital operations, and team performance in a supportive and collaborative environment.
The ideal candidate will be a board-certified physician with a strong foundation in hospital medicine, proven leadership ability, and a passion for operational excellence and team development.
Responsibilities :
Leadership & Oversight : Supervise and provide clinical leadership to a team of hospitalists, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.
Program Operations : Manage daily operations of the hospitalist service, including provider scheduling, patient throughput, coverage planning, and resource allocation.
Quality & Performance Improvement : Drive clinical performance by monitoring quality metrics, enhancing patient satisfaction, and implementing evidence-based practices.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration : Work closely with nursing, case management, specialty departments, and administration to optimize patient outcomes and transitions of care.
Mentorship & Recruitment : Participate in hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and performance evaluations of hospitalist providers.
Policy & Protocol Development : Assist in the creation and enforcement of clinical protocols, workflow efficiencies, and operational standards.
Direct Patient Care : Maintain a clinical presence by participating in patient care activities and sharing in-call responsibilities.
Qualifications :
MD or DO with Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
Active Pennsylvania medical license (or eligibility).
Minimum of 5 years of hospitalist clinical experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or administrative role.
Active DEA license.
Strong organizational, communication, and team-building skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead quality initiatives and manage multidisciplinary teams.
