Job description

Hospitalist Opening in Minnesota

Location: Brainerd, MN - Duluth 110 miles

Schedule: Primarily day shifts with flexibility, 7 on 7 off cycle (Tuesday-Monday), with a 1:8 week rotation to night shifts. Full-time equivalent of 24 weeks/year. Opportunity for additional shifts and extended week rotations with pay incentives.

Practice Details: Well-established Hospitalist program at a 162-bed, Level III Trauma Center, recognized as a Top 100 Rural Hospital in America. Coverage includes Med/Surg & ICU, ventilator co-management with intensivists, RT, and remote support from Duluth. No procedures required; general surgery handles central lines.

Team and Responsibilities: Fully staffed with 10 hospitalists, currently 8 physicians and 2 NPs. Opportunities to teach, precept medical and PA students, and assume future program leadership roles. Average inpatient volume: 12-15 encounters per day; daily census: 40-60 patients.

Additional Features: Certified Primary Stroke Center with co-management with stroke neurology, a growing cardiovascular program, and top sepsis care. The team manages codes and rapid responses.
