Job summary

Sound Physicians seeks a Hospitalist Physician in Apple Valley, California. The role features a day shift from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with ~16 shifts per month in a 17-hospitalist team and collaboration with Providence St. Mary Medical Center.

Qualified Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physicians who are board-certified or eligible are encouraged to apply. New grads welcome; visa support for H1B candidates is available via Sound’s in-house team.

Responsibilities

• Work in an open ICU environment; no procedures required.
• Use Epic EMR for patient management.
• Coordinate care with hospital teams and Providence St. Mary Medical Center.
• Cover daytime shifts 7:00 AM–7:00 PM; about 16 shifts monthly.

Local Team Collaboration

• Join our close-knit team of 17 hospitalists, including 3 Nurse Practitioners, at Providence St. Mary Medical Center.
• Within the hospital, we work closely with our colleagues in other departments to ensure a smooth transition of care.
• Sound Physicians Intensivists provide support to the hospitalist team.

Qualifications

• Internal medicine and family medicine candidates are eligible. Candidates must be board-certified or eligible with the expectation of obtaining certification.
• Ability to work with residents.
• New graduates, residents, and fellows are encouraged to apply.

Scheduling

• Day shift schedule is a 12-hour shift; 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Average of 16 shifts per month.

Key Responsibilities

• The role utilizes Epic EMR, with access to Sound Physicians’ internal informatics platform for seamless patient management.

Compensation

• Annual compensation is based on the number of shifts worked, ranging from $330k- $340k.
