Job summary

US Acute Care Solutions is seeking an Assistant Medical Director to lead hospitalist services at a Maryland facility. You will collaborate with the Medical Director, mentor providers, recruit physicians and APPs, and ensure compliance with governing bodies while delivering high-quality patient care.

The role offers ownership within the group, access to CME support, and a culture of continuous improvement through evidence-based practice. Experience in hospital medicine and leadership is preferred.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with active medical license in Maryland.
• Minimum 3–5 years in hospital medicine leadership.
• Experience recruiting physicians and APPs.
• Strong knowledge of Epic EMR and governance.

Responsibilities

• Recruit physicians and APPs to the hospitalist program.
• Provide orientation, mentoring, and monitoring progress of new providers.
• Supervising IAC team members, creating a schedule and attending meetings.
• Make sure that the IAC practice follows all governing bodies.
• Providing direct care to patients.

Hospital Details

Inpatient services span a broad range of primary and secondary Acute Care services. Outpatient services include Rehabilitation, Obstetrical/Gynecological, Sleep Testing, Cardiology, and additional care.

Hospitalist Service

• Daily Encounters: 114

• Staffing Model:
  • 16-20 per Physician – 84 hours of Physician coverage daily
  • 12-14 per APP – 36 hours of APP coverage daily
• EMR: Epic
• 14 Physician/8 APP provider Hospitalist team
• Dedicated Nocturnist
• Intensivists onsite until ~5 pm, then on call
• Procedures not required
• Open ICU
