Position Overview

TheHospitalistis a key member of theinpatient medical team, responsible for providing high-quality, efficient, andcoordinated care to adult inpatients from admission through discharge. Thisphysician will practice in a dynamic community hospital setting, workingclosely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe transitions of care,optimal throughput, and superior clinical outcomes for a diverse patientpopulation in East Houston.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manageall aspects of inpatient care, including admission, evaluation, diagnosis,daily management, and discharge planning.
  • Coordinateclosely with nursing, specialists, case management, and ancillarydepartments to optimize patient flow, quality, and patient experience.
  • Maintaintimely, accurate, and comprehensive documentation in the electronicmedical record in alignment with hospital policies and regulatorystandards.
  • Participatein interdisciplinary rounds, quality and performance improvementinitiatives, and medical staff activities.
  • Respondto rapid response and code events as assigned and provide consultation forhospitalized patients as needed.
  • Supporteducation and onboarding of residents, medical students, and advancedpractice providers when applicable.
