Job summary

UPMC is seeking a security professional to maintain a safe environment by operating weapons detection equipment at designated entrances, screening individuals and belongings, and coordinating with UPMC Police and staff as needed.

The role requires responding to alarms, documenting incidents, and ensuring compliance with policies. You will patrol hospital properties, assist visitors and staff, and carry department firearms following regulations.

Qualifications

• Maintain required certifications and licensing.
• Complete all mandatory training programs per departmental guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Operate weapons detection equipment at designated entrances to screen persons, bags, and other belongings.
• Identify threats or prohibited objects and take appropriate action.
• Collaborate with Public Safety team and staff to address security issues or threats.
• Provide customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff at screening areas.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of weapons detection equipment and report malfunctions.
