Job summary

Oceans Behavioral Hospital Abilene is seeking a dedicated Unit Clerk to support hospital staff on a busy nursing station. You will answer calls, greet visitors, and route information to the appropriate teams, helping maintain accurate patient records and smooth admissions.

You will transcription of orders, prepare requisitions, assist with census and monthly reports, coordinate transfers and discharges, and perform light patient transport as needed, always upholding Joint Commission and Oceans

Qualifications

• Answers the phone quickly and courteously, directing calls to patients and staff.
• Assists in admissions by liaising with business office and admitting office.
• Gathers relevant descriptive and financial information and routes to appropriate personnel.
• Greets visitors, patients and families with empathy and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a receptionist for the hospital by answering the phone quickly and directing calls.
• Assists the clinical staff in providing information regarding other referral sources and aids in admission.
