Job summary

UPMC West Shore is hiring a full-time Supply Specialist to receive, store, and manage hospital supplies, monitor inventory, remove expired items, and fulfill supply requests. The role supports clinical operations and requires attention to detail and safety compliance.

You will work daylight hours, Monday through Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm, coordinating with Pharmacy and hospital staff, handling shipments and par stock, and maintaining organized supply areas.

Responsibilities

• Attend annual fire/safety and infection control training; keep safety knowledge current.
• Enter receipt data into Peoplesoft accurately.
• Communicate with hospital contacts by phone and in person across all age groups.
• Fill requests and deliver supplies; obtain signatures and file delivery sheets.
• Keep work area tidy and supply areas compliant with standards.
• Coordinate ordering of regulated items with Pharmacy supervision; access secure areas under staff.
• Package and ship items; prepare loading docs and coordinate returns with departments.
• Check par stocks for expired items; dispose and rotate inventory.
• Follow incident reporting procedures affecting patient care.
• Unload and inspect incoming supplies; stage for processing.
• Store items in prescribed Materials Management locations.
• Receive materials, verify packing slips, log discrepancies.
