Job summary

Baptist Memorial Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Materials Management Coordinator to oversee hospital-wide materials management, forecast inventory needs, and manage orders for medical and office supplies. The role emphasizes accurate labeling, charge capture, and timely communication with leadership on inventory levels.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma (some college preferred) and at least 2 years of purchasing experience in healthcare.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma required; some college preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years purchasing experience preferred (healthcare setting a plus).
• Skills: Strong communication and organization; attention to detail and follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Identify inventory needs for all hospital departments; order medical and office supplies as needed and process returns of unused/mis-ordered items in a timely manner.
• Notify leadership of recalled medical supplies and promptly remove recalled items from clean supply rooms.
• Stock, label, and maintain charged medical and office supplies.
• Maintain and organize all medical supply and office storage locations.
• Communicate with leadership to ensure adequate inventory levels; elevate special inventory needs.
• Coordinate purchase orders and packing slips to support timely and accurate payment processing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
