Job summary

Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, CA, seeks a Clinical Operations Representative (COR) to coordinate nursing staffing, admissions and transfers across the facility using Cerner, PBAR, RightBed, and the ADT system. You’ll help assign rooms, communicate with departments, and support the Transfer Center and House Supervisors.

The COR role requires strong scheduling, documentation, and patient data handling skills, with day and night shifts and a professional, patient‑focused approach.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or GED
• Required: Computer experience—ability to work in multiple systems concurrently
• Required: Excellent communication skills—written and verbal
• Required: Demonstrated ability to present self in positive and professional manner
• Required: Prioritization and organizational skills
• Required: Ability to read and understand written English
• Required: Ability to communicate orally and in writing
• Required: Ability to communicate with others via telephone
• Required: Ability to complete detailed work and complex scheduling requirements with minimal errors
• Required: Availability for both day and night shifts
• Preferred: 1–3 years hospital staffing/Cerner/ADT experience
• Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Allocate personnel with supervisor consultation based on unit need
• Obtain daily staff requests
• Coordinate staffing to meet organizational requirements
• Monitor overtime and attendance
• Audit staff files for accuracy
• Maintain schedules and scheduling accuracy
• Verify payroll accuracy
• Process vacation requests
• Monitor staff qualifications and expertise
• Resolve scheduling conflicts
• Schedule new hire/contract staff orientations
• Maintain mandatory education tracking
• Maintain daily staffing reports
• Assist mortuary staff with information regarding deceased patients
• Coordinate with Transfer Center Coordinators and House Supervisors
• Assist in maintaining files
