Job summary

West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell, Idaho, is seeking a Social Worker (MSW) to perform non‑clinical biopsychosocial assessments for inpatient floors and the outpatient emergency department. The MSW conducts crisis intervention, patient/family interventions, high‑risk screening, and referrals for financial assistance or resources.

Qualifications

• MSW licensure or internship status required.
• Master's Degree in Social Work or equivalent.
• No travel required.
• No prior years of experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform biopsychosocial assessments and interventions on inpatient floors and in the ED.
• Conduct crisis intervention, patient/family interventions, and high‑risk screening.
• Develop discharge plans and coordinate post‑acute care placement.
• Collaborate with care teams to address barriers to discharge (financial, emotional, psychosocial, medical, spiritual).
• Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families during complex situations.
• Maintain knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and private payer regulations and processes.
