Overview

The primary objective of a CDL Driver is to safely and efficiently operate commercial vehicles to transport passengers, goods, or materials while complying with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies. This role ensures timely and reliable transportation services, maintains vehicle safety and cleanliness, and delivers exceptional customer service. CDL Drivers are responsible for adhering to schedules, handling cargo or passenger needs professionally, and contributing to the overall success of the transportation operation.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Safe and Efficient Transportation

    Operate shuttles or commercial vehicles safely and efficiently, following all traffic laws, conducting regular inspections, reporting issues, and adjusting routes as needed to maintain timely service.

  • Passenger Assistance and Customer Service

    Provide a welcoming experience by assisting passengers with boarding, luggage, and mobility needs, while offering helpful information and professionally addressing concerns to ensure a safe and positive travel experience.

  • Vehicle Maintenance and Safety Compliance

    Conduct daily vehicle inspections, maintain a clean and safe vehicle, and report issues promptly. Ensure compliance with company safety policies, DOT regulations, and CDL standards.

  • Communication and Coordination

    Maintain clear communication with dispatchers, staff, and management to ensure smooth operations, follow protocols for real‑time updates, and collaborate with teams to deliver seamless transportation services. May be required to use a personal cell phone for work purposes.

  • Customer Service and Teamwork

    Handle challenging situations with professionalism, resolve problems promptly, and ensure high‑quality service while fostering a positive team environment and supporting colleagues.

  • Attendance and Professionalism

    Maintain regular attendance, adhere to company policies, and uphold standards for safe and efficient parking operations. Arrive on time, in full uniform, and properly groomed before clocking in.

  • Additional Responsibilities

    Support evolving business needs by completing other tasks as assigned, attending meetings and training, and maintaining schedule flexibility.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required. Customer service experience is preferred, with a strong emphasis on a positive, helpful attitude and willingness to provide excellent service. Previous experience in parking, hospitality, or related customer service fields is beneficial.
  • Candidates must be at least 25 years old and possess a valid Class C CDL driver’s license with a passenger (P) endorsement if applicable. A minimum of one (1) year of shuttle driving or transportation experience is required.
  • Applicants must have a clean driving record with no major violations and successfully complete an MVR check, background screening, and DOT physical examination (if applicable).
Class C Commercial Driving License Specifications, Licensing and Requirements
  • A Class C license with a Passenger (P) endorsement is required for operating vehicles such as passenger vans, minivans, stretch limousines, light trucks, and small buses that can carry 16 to 23 passengers, including the driver.
  • Valid Class C license with passenger endorsement and a clean driving record for the past 3 years.
  • Current DOT medical certification and compliance with drug screening requirements.

Provide exceptional guest service through professional communication, active listening, and personalized assistance, creating a welcoming and memorable experience that aligns with company standards and fosters a positive environment.

Organizational Support and Adaptability

Follow company policies and procedures. Adapt to changing work environments, manage competing demands, and handle unexpected situations with flexibility and professionalism.

Dependability and Safety

Demonstrate dependability by following instructions, maintaining work schedules, and ensuring timely task completion. Adhere to safety procedures, take appropriate action when needed, and report unsafe conditions.

Work Environment

Operate a shuttle in varied traffic conditions while ensuring passenger safety and timeliness. The role involves constant interaction in a fast‑paced environment, requiring strong communication, adaptability, and a focus on excellent customer service.

Physical Demands

Must be able to sit for extended periods while driving, lift to 50 pounds, and work in various weather conditions while maintaining professionalism and high‑quality service in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Cell Phone Use

Employees may be required to use personal cell phones for work‑related communication, including coordination with team members, managers, and clients. Reimbursement for work‑related phone usage will follow company policy.

Employment with PMC is on an at‑will basis, meaning either the employee or the employer may end the employment relationship at any time, for any reason, with or without cause or notice, in accordance with applicable laws. A 120‑day introductory period applies.

Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)

This position is classified as non‑exempt under the FLSA, meaning employees are eligible for overtime pay for hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek at a rate of one and a half times their regular hourly rate. PMC adheres to all applicable federal, state, and local wage and overtime laws. All hourly rates will meet or exceed the minimum wage requirements for your specific work location. PMC is compliant with all state workman’s compensation laws.
