Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. is seeking a Security Officer to safeguard patients, visitors, and staff in a clinic setting. You will monitor surveillance and access systems, enforce policies, and respond to emergencies with professional de-escalation and protective actions.

The role includes a $1,000 sign-on bonus for full-time associates, a 40-hour weekly schedule, and comprehensive benefits. Training covers drills for infant abduction and active shooter scenarios and strict safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Current Driver’s License (if applicable for the role).
• Current Basic Life Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers or willing to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• At least 21 years of age.
• If located in the State of Montana Security Guard Licensure is required within 120 days of hire.
• One-year previous law enforcement, corrections, public safety or security experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates and monitors security technology systems, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems.
• De-escalation to calm individuals and resolve conflicts without force.
• Protects staff and patients and intervenes when necessary to ensure safety.
• Ensure regulatory compliance including HIPAA when reporting incidents.
• Respond to bomb threats and suspicious packages following protocols.
• Participate in drills (e.g., infant abduction, active shooter) to prepare staff.
• Conduct safe searches of patients and seek narcotics per legal requirements.
• Perform safety inspections of walking surfaces and fire extinguishers.
• Enforce parking regulations to ensure safety and accessibility.
• Collaborate with HR and law enforcement on investigations.
