Job summary

Coast Plaza Doctors Hospital is seeking a Security Guard to oversee hospital security and safety operations. You will perform rounds to prevent incidents, manage access control, and support staff with patient safety, including handling 5150 holds when needed.

Strong communication, professionalism and adherence to HIPAA are essential. This role requires CA Guard Card, CPI training and BLS certification, with monthly trainings and a focus on rapid, respectful responses.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of current experience in an acute hospital setting as a security guard.
• CA Guard Card required.
• CPI Crisis Prevention Institute training.
• AHA BLS Basic Life Support.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily security rounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and ensure safety.
• Control facility access and report incidents to law enforcement.
• Assist staff with disrupted patients, including those on 5150 holds.
• Communicate clearly with coworkers, patients and visitors using AIDET.
• Report equipment and environmental issues for repair.
• Follow HIPAA regulations.
• Attend monthly trainings.
• Adhere to security and emergency procedures.
