Job summary

Community Hospital of Huntington Park in Huntington Park, CA seeks a Security Guard to oversee security and safety operations. You will conduct rounds, prevent incidents, monitor access points, and assist staff with disruptive patients while maintaining HIPAA-compliant conduct.

Qualified applicants should have a CA Guard Card, CPI training, and AHA BLS certification; six months to one year of hospital security experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of current experience in an acute hospital setting as a security guard.
• CA Guard Card required.
• CPI Crisis Prevention Institute training.
• AHA BLS Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily duties to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry and assure the personal safety of employees, patients, and visitors.
• Performs building and ground patrols to assure hospital safety.
• Investigates any thefts, disturbance, or suspicious activity.
• Controls facility access and reports crimes to local law enforcement.
• Maintains professional communication with staff, patients and visitors.
• Uses AIDET principles in interactions and escalates safety events when needed.
