Job summary

Community Hospital of Huntington Park in Huntington Park, CA, is seeking a Security Guard to protect patients, staff and visitors. You will perform patrols, monitor access, respond to incidents, and uphold HIPAA and hospital safety standards.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication using AIDET, basic PC skills, and the ability to act with urgency. Prior hospital security experience preferred; training and certifications listed in posted qualifications.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of current experience in an acute hospital setting as a security guard, preferred.
• Must possess CA Guard Card, CPI Crisis Prevention Institute, and AHA BLS Basic Life Support.
• Performs duties in accordance with hospital safety and HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily duties to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry and assure the personal safety of employees, patients, and visitors.
• Perform building and ground patrols to assure the safety of the hospital.
• Investigate any thefts, disturbance, suspicious activity.
• Facility access control includes identification of individuals entering facilities and managing alarms.
• Assist staff with patients, including those on 5150 holds, by visitors and by staff.
• Use clear, professional communication with coworkers, patients, and visitors using AIDET.
• Escalate potential safety events and report environmental issues for repair.
