Job summary

St. Joseph Hospital, a proud member of Catholic Health, seeks a Security Guard to help maintain a safe, welcoming environment in Bethpage, NY. You will respond to emergencies, patrol facilities, manage access, and assist with staff safety and patient care.

Requirements include a High School diploma, NYS Security Guard License (or active law enforcement), a NYS driver’s license, and BLS/AED certification. Experience preferred in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• NYS Security Guard License OR Active Duty Law Enforcement required.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License required.
• BLS & AED Certification required.
• One year of security experience preferred (hospital setting a plus).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Responding promptly to emergencies and security incidents
• Controlling facility access and ensuring only authorized personnel enter
• Conducting regular patrols of buildings, grounds, and parking areas
• Assisting with fire safety inspections and staff education
• Providing courteous support and assistance to patients, staff, and visitors
• Preparing clear and timely incident reports
