Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking a Security Officer to protect patients, visitors, and staff across hospital properties. The role includes operating weapons scanning equipment, monitoring CCTV, enforcing safety policies, and documenting incidents to ensure a secure environment.

You may float to other locations as needed and will work a variable shift within the Protective Services department. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a valid state driver’s license, BLS certification,

Qualifications

• High School or GED (Required).
• BLS certification required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to operate weapons scanning equipment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains weapons scanning equipment.
• Enforces OhioHealth facility policies regarding parking, visitation, drugs, tobacco, weapons, and others.
• Monitors facility activity on CCTV and intervenes in confrontations as needed.
• Completes incident documentation and follows emergency procedures.
• Work independently to determine the correct response and initiate actions.
• Float to other locations based on team availability and need.
