Job summary

Newport Hospital & Health Services in Newport, WA seeks a per diem Security Officer to ensure a safe environment. You will patrol interior/exterior areas, maintain order, and coordinate with medical and law enforcement personnel as needed.

Required 1–3 years in security or law enforcement, valid driver's license, and BLS within six months. Strong customer service and communication skills are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Completion of BLS within six months.
• 1–3 years in law enforcement or security.
• HIPAA, Restraint Training, and Emergency Code Training within six months.

Responsibilities

• Oversight and inspection of assigned areas on foot or by vehicle.
• Provide a visible roving security presence throughout the facility.
• Liaise with patients, visitors and staff on security matters.
• Respond to calls for assistance and assist medical personnel.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, firefighters and management.
• Maintain confidentiality and report safety hazards.
• Escort personnel upon request and enforce hospital policies.
• Assist in Incident Command Center when indicated.
• Perform Parking Lot inspections and report suspicious activity.
• Light maintenance duties including snow removal and alarm checks.
