St. Mary-Corwin is seeking a Security Officer to help create a safe hospital environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

You will unlock/lock doors, assist in the Emergency Department, monitor for fire/safety hazards, control access, and respond to emergency codes according to established procedures. The role requires observational skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6 months experience as a security officer in a healthcare setting or law enforcement or military service; or 1 year experience as a security officer.

Responsibilities

• Protect staff, patients and visitors by responding to calls for assistance promptly and prudently.
• Patrol the facility/grounds by foot or vehicle; monitor security alarms; dispatch officers to location as needed.
• Report unsafe acts/conditions; document incidents with clear, timely reports.
• Safeguard employees and visitors using appropriate measures.
• Use emergency and radio codes to dispatch security officers to the right location.
• Assist in incident investigations and document HIPAA breaches when witnessed.
• Ensure activities are logged and incident reports are accurate and legible.
• Adhere to patient/visitor identification policies and facility rules.
