Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Redding is seeking a Security Officer to maintain safety by patrolling assigned areas, monitoring surveillance, and responding to security incidents across the facility. You will dispatch personnel via radio and document incidents to support a secure environment.

The role requires vigilance, proficiency with radios and emergency codes, and commitment to patient and staff safety in a hospital setting; prior healthcare security experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months healthcare security experience or one year as Security Officer.
• CA Guard Card required.
• CPR/BLS within 90 days.
• CA Driver's License within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls for assistance in a timely and prudent manner; patrol the facility by foot or vehicle; monitor alarms and dispatch officers as needed.
• Know emergency procedures, equipment, and hospital codes.
• Report HIPAA breaches; investigate security breaches and write incident reports.
• Use appropriate emergency and radio codes in dispatching; align dispatches with the right location.
• Demonstrate professional and technical skills and uphold the organization's mission and values.
