Corewell Health's Gerber Hospital in Fremont is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to protect patients, visitors, staff and property. You will patrol buildings and grounds, monitor for suspicious activity, enforce policies, assist with access control, and provide a calm, reassuring presence.

The role emphasizes communication, observation, and decisive action. This is a part-time daytime position with a 24-hour weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 20 years of age with valid Michigan driver's license.
• State MI driver's license upon hire.
• First Aid certification (AHA/ARC).
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC).

Responsibilities

• Maintains highly visible patrols to detect or deter incidents.
• Documents incident reports thoroughly and timely.
• Assists with directions, access control, and escorts.
• Communicates with patients, visitors, and health-team members.
• Manages conflicts using de-escalation and appropriate force.
• Responds to emergencies and investigates situations.
• Pursues ongoing professional development and maintains licensure.
