Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Full Time) for Hospital Patrol in Birmingham, AL. You will safeguard patients, visitors, staff, and vendors, performing access-control duties and emergency response while maintaining a visible, professional presence in a healthcare environment.

The role requires the ability to work night shifts as listed, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a willingness to comply with vaccination and background checks.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to receive required hospital vaccinations.
• Must be able to work in and around a hospital morgue.
• Must be able to restrain individuals when necessary.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of healthcare facilities, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential hazards or maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor management, wayfinding, and compliance with facility policies while maintaining a professional presence.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and site personnel.
