The role requires patrolling premises, de-escalation of incidents, and participation in fire/disaster response teams with a professional, helpful attitude. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (or 3 years of verifiable experience) and a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Qualifications

• Experience in security/security-related fields and customer service is preferred.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record accepted by the Network Insurance Carrier.
• Must obey and adhere to all motor vehicle regulations while operating hospital vehicles.
• High school diploma or GED required or 3 years verifiable experience in lieu of diploma.

Responsibilities

• Patrols hospital property to ensure safety of patients, visitors, and staff.
• Handles and monitors patients that exhibit violent behavior.
• Investigates security incidents and documents findings.
• Maintains a daily activity report of security duties and observations.
• Locks and unlocks buildings around the hospital campus.
• Supports fire and disaster response teams as needed.
• Enforces hospital parking policy and traffic flow.
• Provides a courteous, professional demeanor to all customers at all times.
• Assists in verbal de-escalation and, if necessary, physical restraint procedures.
• Performs hazardous patient decontamination procedures as required.
