Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Hospital Security Officer for Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh. This part-time role offers 3:00PM-11:00PM or 11:00PM-7:00AM shifts with up to 30 hours per week, weekends included.

You will protect staff, visitors, and patients while following site security protocols and hospital policies. Responsibilities include patrolling, de-escalation, screening, and responding to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Prior work experience involving dealing with customers, troubleshooting, and/or managing stressful situations.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
• Background check will be conducted in accordance with laws; drug screen required
• Valid driver’s license may be required for driving positions
• Training completed post-offer and certification in Management of Aggressive Behavior

Responsibilities

• Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity
• Patrol on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to check conditions and security violations
• De-escalate verbally and physically as needed
• Inspect security devices and fire control equipment
• Screen members, visitors, and client employees for admittance
• Respond to incidents with calm urgency
• Provide safety escort or transport deceased to morgue if needed
