Job summary

Montefiore Nyack is seeking a part-time Security Officer to patrol the hospital, monitor surveillance, and report irregularities. The role involves fixed posts, coverage for absences, and interaction with staff and the public.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and 1–3 years in a hospital security setting, with leadership qualities. CPR/First Aid and NYS Driver's License are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Required.
• 1-3 years experience in a hospital setting as a Security guard.
• Previous experience in law enforcement, Firefighter or Security Officer in a Health Care Facility preferred.
• Must have demonstrated strong leadership qualities.
• Ability to relate well to all types of people and act in a positive and supportive manner.
• Reacts in a flexible manner under unusual circumstances, which may alter normal routines.

Responsibilities

• Reports to Security Manager for overall job performance.
• Assigned to fixed posts and hospital patrol.
• Covers vacant positions due to no-shows, vacation, holiday, sick time and any other emergencies that may develop that require immediate coverage.
• Courteous, pleasant, and helpful to the general public and Hospital staff.
• Conducts training exercises for fire drills, code silver drills, code pink and code gray alarms.
• Assures compliance with all hospital and security department policies and procedures.
