Job summary

Baptist Health South Florida is seeking a Security Officer to help maintain a safe, patient-centered environment across our hospitals and facilities. You will patrol, monitor access, respond to incidents, and coordinate with clinical and operations teams to ensure smooth, secure operations.

Minimum 2 years of security experience, High School diploma or equivalent, BLS certification within 90 days, and a Florida Driver's License are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED, Certificate, Training, Experience).
• BLS certification must be obtained within first 90 days of employment.
• Experience in hospital security preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Perform surveillance, access control, and incident response as directed.
• Coordinate with clinical and operations teams to ensure orderly, secure operations.

Description

The purpose of this position is to support the Administration of Baptist Health South Florida with the provision of a safe and secure environment for the care of patients and the peaceful and orderly operation of business throughout all entities serviced. To be proficient in all aspects as a BHSF security officer as provided for and by the BHSF security training program and able to work independently with little or no supervision. Estimated pay range for this position is $16.61 - $21.09 / hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

Degrees:

• High School,Cert,GED,Trn,Exper.
  
  

Licenses & Certifications:

• Basic Life Support.
• Florida Drivers License (Class E Non-Commercial).
  
  

Additional Qualifications

• Experience in the field of security with a preference in a hospital setting.
• Law enforcement or military experience desired.
• Required to complete BHSF security training program before the completion of their probationary period and supplemental training classes as they are offered.
• BLS certification must be obtained within first 90 days of employment.
