Job summary

AdventHealth in Wesley Chapel, FL is seeking a PRN Security Officer for day shifts. You will patrol hospital areas, respond to emergencies, and perform first aid as trained. The role requires de-escalation, observation, and strong teamwork to maintain life safety standards.

Responsibilities include monitoring alarms, managing access points, and documenting incidents. A valid driver’s license, high school diploma, and 1+ year of related experience are required; BLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv required.
• 1+ years related experience required.
• Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned areas and performs security-related tasks, ensuring life safety standards are maintained.
• Investigates suspicious activity or persons and reports hazards, unusual or suspicious circumstances.
• Acknowledges and responds to emergency, non-emergency, and alarm calls.
• Administers initial first aid as appropriate and to the level of training attained.
• Learns applicable systems and responds to fire alarms during alarms and drills.
• Intercedes in disputes using verbal de-escalation techniques.
• Unlocks buildings and doors after checking identification and compliance with hospital policies.
• Monitors vehicle and pedestrian traffic on hospital properties; interviews and investigates suspicious or illegal activities.
• Documents safety hazards, incidents, and criminal activities through reports; follows up with leadership as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
