Job summary

Orlando Health in Orlando, FL seeks a Security Officer to maintain order and safety for patients, visitors and staff. You will patrol the campus, escort individuals as needed, respond to incidents, and coordinate with law enforcement when required.

The role requires vigilance, good judgment and the ability to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends. A valid Florida driver's license and security licensure are required or pursued within set timelines.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Must have a valid Florida driver’s license.
• Must obtain Florida Class D Security Officer License within 120 days.
• Must obtain CPI certificate within 120 days.
• Must obtain Basic Security Officer Certification or higher within 120 days.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word for report writing purposes.

Responsibilities

• Escorts for visitors, employees, and students upon request.
• Patrols hospital areas 24/7 by foot, bike, or vehicle.
• Provides key assists to all hospital areas for authorized personnel.
• Detects suspicious activities and handles situations appropriately.
• Reports criminal activity to supervisor and law enforcement as needed.
• Investigates accidents, preserves evidence, and interviews witnesses.
• Assists medical staff with enforcing Baker Act and Marchman Act under Florida law.
