Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Security Officer to help protect, secure, and promote safety at a Memorial Hermann Hospital campus. The role focuses on monitoring areas, controlling access, and responding to security incidents to ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, Texas Commissioned Security Officer license (or eligibility), CPR/BLS certification within 90 days, and strong English communication and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Commissioned Security Officer by the Texas Department of Public Safety Private Security Bureau (within 90 days after hire).
• Possession of a valid driver’s license (if from out of state) and must obtain Texas license within 90 days.
• Must be certified in Heartsaver CPR or Heartcode BLS CPR by the American Heart Association (within 90 days).
• Must be able to understand and communicate English effectively in verbal and written form.
• Proficiency in the use of computers is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitors assigned areas to ensure maximum visibility of security presence and conducts patrols.
• Controls access to buildings and parking areas; report hazards, suspicious activities, or security breaches.
• Administers building visitor and materials pass programs and enforces policies.
• Responds to security and emergency situations; assists patients, visitors, and staff with directions and escorts.
• Completes and submits security reports and activity logs; operates security equipment.
• Ensures safety in accordance with Memorial Hermann policies within budgetary specifications.
• Promotes professional growth and serves as a mentor to staff.
• Models Memorial Hermann service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences.
• Other duties as assigned.
