Job summary

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Security Officer to protect facilities, staff, and patients. The role involves greeting entrants, verifying IDs, patrolling grounds, monitoring cameras, and directing visitors to correct locations.

You will respond to emergencies, de-escalate disturbances, and assist clinical staff as needed, with shifts including nights, holidays, and potential call-backs. Strong observation and reporting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to patrol hospital buildings and grounds, deter criminal activity and monitor surveillance equipment.
• Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. and stand for extended periods (up to four hours).
• Willingness to work 8- or 12-hour shifts, including holidays, with possible call-back assignments.
• Follows security protocols and can identify individuals entering the facility and issue proper identification.

Responsibilities

• Patrol hospital buildings and grounds to deter and detect criminal activity and unauthorized access.
• Monitor security cameras, alarms, and other surveillance equipment.
• Secure entrances, exits, and restricted areas to prevent breaches or theft.
• Control pedestrian and vehicular traffic as needed.
• Prepare detailed incident reports using the IMC Computer database.
• Maintain logs of daily activities and ensure effective communication with team members.
