SSM Health DePaul Hospital in St. Louis is looking for a dedicated Security Officer to join our team. This role involves patrolling and securing hospital facilities to protect staff, patients, visitors, and property.

You will respond to emergencies, enforce safety policies, assist during incidents, and provide professional customer service to all on site. The position supports a safe environment around the clock.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or 10 years of work experience.
• Psychological assessment after conditional offer of employment.

Responsibilities

• Protect property and staff by conducting interior and exterior rounds, observing for safety and security issues, theft, and monitoring of parking lots.
• Promote visitor and employee safety while they are on the organization's property by providing door checks, detecting lighting deficiencies, confirming proper operation of elevators, assisting with disruptive individuals, patient restraints and escorts as requested.
• Respond to overhead pages or requests for assistance, including escorting emergency personnel through the building, and provide post-mortem services.
• Provide professional customer service when dealing with complex situations and communicate with clinical staff to identify hazards.
• Observe and report security concerns, complete incident reports and shift logs.
• Provide maintenance assistance through property conservation and campus safety tasks such as alarm testing, life safety equipment checks, AEDs, oxygen tanks, fire extinguishers, access control, badging, and door integrity checks.
• Enforce policies and procedures of the organization and assist with monitoring and investigating incidents using the video system.
• Operate motor vehicle to patrol may be required.
