Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer at Penn Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. You will perform routine patrols, monitor assigned areas, and provide professional customer service to students, staff, and visitors while upholding site security procedures.

Position Type: Full Time; Pay Rate: $19.60 / Hour; Shifts include Day Time and weekends. A background check and drug screen are required as part of employment.

Qualifications

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and other community members while carrying out site-specific procedures and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual conditions or security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Monitor access points and support visitor management procedures in accordance with campus policies.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.

Job Description

As a Security Officer at Penn Medicine in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in the healthcare field. Join Allied Universal as an Security Officer supporting a dynamic location in the Penn Medicine network. You will conduct routine patrols, monitor assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control, and provide professional customer service. Using computer or tablet tools, you will communicate clearly with students, staff, and visitors while contributing through teamwork, integrity, reliability, and care for people.

What You’ll Do

Minimum Requirements

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
