Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to protect patients, staff, and visitors across our facilities. You will patrol campuses, monitor cameras, respond to incidents, and document events with clear, timely reporting.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in security or healthcare settings, strong observation and communication skills, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. Basic life support certification and security credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of experience working in a healthcare or hospital setting preferred.
• BLS Basic Life Support certification required or preferred.
• IAHSS Certification preferred or Facility Security Officer Certification preferred.
• State license if required.
• Alaska: Security Guard license required.
• Georgia: 24-hour Basic Security Officer Training program and CPI certification required.
• Tennessee: Security Guard License required.

Responsibilities

• Patrols all areas of the facility, clinics, and surrounding grounds.
• Monitors surveillance cameras and conducts property inspections.
• Investigates and documents reports of unsafe activity or security violations.
• Responds to alarms, emergencies, and incidents and coordinates actions.
• Secures property by locking doors, windows, and gates after hours.
• Directs traffic, enforces parking regulations, and assists with crowd control.
• Collaborates with hospital staff and law enforcement as needed.
• Completes and maintains incident reports, logs, and related documentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains reliable attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
