Nicklaus Children's is seeking a School Hospital Teacher to coordinate education for chronically ill students receiving medical care. The role partners with hospital staff, families, and school districts to ensure continuity of schooling during hospitalization and medical treatment.

The position focuses on implementing individualized education plans, coordinating hospital homebound services, and maintaining clear communication across care teams to support academic goals for students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• Florida Educator Certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• American Heart Association BLS within 90 days of hire.
• 1–3 years of experience as an educator in elementary, middle, or high school.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate educational services between hospital, schools, and families.
• Develop and implement IEP/504 plans for hospitalized students.
• Advocate for hospital homebound tutoring and post-discharge learning.
• Document educational plans and outcomes in patient records.
• Collaborate with medical staff and teachers to support learning.
