Job summary

CommonSpirit Health, at St. Bernardine Medical Center in San Bernardino, is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain patient rooms and hospital areas in a clean and sanitized state.

You will learn proper disposal of biohazard materials and use disinfecting chemicals to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. You will also stock supplies, assist with cleaning specialized rooms, and work with teams to uphold safety standards across departments.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED preferred.
• Previous experience in commercial/healthcare cleaning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine cleaning and decluttering to hospital areas (dusting, sweeping, mopping, trash disposal).
• Sanitize hospital areas using approved tools and routines; procedures vary by location (patient rooms, ER, OR, hallways, stations, restrooms).
• Restock supplies in supply areas, common areas, and patient rooms (soap, towels, tissue, linens, cleaning supplies).
• Learn and follow proper disposal techniques for medical waste (bodily fluids, biohazard waste).
• Remain patient, kind and personable in all interactions with patients, visitors and staff.
