Saint Joseph Berea is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to clean and sanitize patient rooms and hospital areas, protecting patients and staff from infectious diseases and hazards. You will perform routine cleaning, use specialized equipment, dispose of biohazard materials, refill dispensers, and deliver clean linens.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED required/preferred with healthcare experience.

Responsabilités

• Responsible for daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, equipment, and other common areas.
• Demonstrates safe chemical handling and equipment use per healthcare guidelines.
• Adheres to safety, risk management and infection control standards; promotes culture of safety.
• Participates in departmental improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and cleanliness metrics.
• Maintains cleaning carts, supplies, and equipment according to Standard Work.
• Manages waste streams per procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Follows infection prevention practices including hand hygiene and PPE use; respects HIPAA privacy.
• Operates and maintains EVS tools and equipment; may assist with conference room setup, stairwells, and curtains; may mentor new staff.
• Collaborates with the patient care team to ensure quality service.
